Using the updated Minecraft Education platform, Minecraft Mania skillfully blends virtual and real-world learning experiences for maximum learning and fun. In the morning, become an intrepid explorer using a Minecraft avatar to dive into the wonders of engineering, physics, and biology to build our own Wicked Cool Minecraft town. Follow up with fun companion hands-on STEAM lessons to learn about engineering, biology and physics. We will do a dino dig and learn the properties of real rocks and minerals found in Minecraft. With a focus on color, shape, and MOTION, this program will have you jumping for joy!Rockin Rockets- Half-Day- 9am - 12pm: Children will step into the shoes of a rocket scientist and learn the fundamentals of flight, propulsion, and rocket design. We'll have fun exploring astronomy and trying out various flight designs from hot air balloons to hovercrafts (and many more!) We'll launch a real model rocket every day and kids will build and take home their own Mad Science model rocket.Bouncy Bendy Art in Motion-Half Day- 1pm - 4pm: Art-ventures with a totally unique twist! Make masterpieces with real moving parts, create the illusion of movement, and discover art processes that use motion to get amazing results. Combine metal, wood, and paper to build Spinning Sculptures inspired by Calder, and design Stretchy Stained Glass art you can re-shape again and again. Sculpt goofy Clay Monsters, craft Bendy Paper Lizards, and paint Seascapes like Monet. Create Matisse Watercolor Banners, Fireworks Flower Pots, and Textured Tissue Paper art. Design Kaleidoscopes, Dancing Pasta Sculptures, and Scribble T-shirts. Draw zany self-portraits inspired by Silberzweig, and decorate Cupcake Boxes with fluffy frosting and sprinkles. Lancaster Recreations Summer Program Series! 9- weeks running from June 23, 2025 - August 22, 2025Full-Day and Half-Day options available most weeks.Early Drop-off & Extended Day options available!Summer programs provide kids with opportunities to learn, grow, and engage in activities they might not experience during the school year. Whether through sports, arts, technology, or outdoor adventures, these programs can help children build new skills, make friends, and stay active. We’ve got just the thing for you! Our Co-Ed Adult Basketball Pickup is tipping off soon, and we’d love to have you on the court with us.This program is not a league, but pick up play. All skill levels and new players welcome. Whether you're a seasoned player or just looking to shoot some hoops for fun, this league is for you. All equipment is provided. Players should wear appropriate clothing, shoes, and bring water.
