Lancaster Recreations Summer Program Series!
9- weeks running from June 23, 2025 - August 22, 2025
Full-Day and Half-Day options available most weeks.

Summer programs provide kids with opportunities to learn, grow, and engage in activities they might not experience during the school year. Whether through sports, arts, technology, or outdoor adventures, these programs can help children build new skills, make friends, and stay active. They also offer a chance to explore interests in a fun and supportive environment.
Early arrival will start 1 hour before the program starts and extended day is 1 hour after the program ends for an additional cost, $40 per week for either early arrival OR extended day or BOTH for $75 per week.
All programs will be held at the Lancaster Community Center- programs will be outside, in the gym or meeting room at the center.

Crazy Chemworks & World of Design-- We'll learn about the tools scientists use in their laboratories, as well as atoms, molecules and reactions, acids and bases, fluorescence, and phosphorescence. We'll also examine and investigate super sticky things by exploring suction, hydrogen bonding and static cling. We'll also see some very cool dry ice demonstrations! Continue the science at home with fun labware take-homes and experiments. Then take a journey to the farthest reaches of the imagination while learning about the ocean, the rainforest, Mars, and a futuristic city, and more! Use the design thinking process to solve real-world problems in these different environments. Experiment with Crayola products and many art techniques like sculpting, storyboarding, collage, and mix media. Discover design, careers like graphic design, universal design, urban design, and produce design.

World of Design Think It! Make It!-Half Day- 1pm - 4pm: Take a journey to the farthest reaches of the imagination while learning about the ocean, the rainforest, Mars, and a futuristic city, and more! Track & Field- Half-Day- 9am - 12pm: Dash, jump, and throw with Skyhawks Track & Field! This program teaches young athletes track and field essentials, from body positioning and stride to stretching and cool-downs. Participants try events like javelin, discus, and hurdles (events vary by location). Each session builds skills, discipline, and sportsmanship. Get on track with Skyhawks for athletic and personal growth! Please wear athletic clothing and bring multiple water bottles, a snack, and sunscreen. Each participant will receive a Skyhawks award & T-shirt.
