Summer Program 2025-- Week 1 June 23 - June 27 - Incredi Flix- Live Action
Lancaster Recreations Summer Program Series! 9- weeks running from June 23, 2025 - August 22, 2025Full-Day and Half-Day options available most weeks.Early Drop-off & Extended Day options available!Summer programs provide kids with opportunities to learn, grow, and engage in activities they might not experience during the school year. Whether through sports, arts, technology, or outdoor adventures, these programs can help children build new skills, make friends, and stay active. Lancaster Recreations Summer Program Series! 9- weeks running from June 23, 2025 - August 22, 2025Full-Day and Half-Day options available most weeks.Early Drop-off & Extended Day options available!Summer programs provide kids with opportunities to learn, grow, and engage in activities they might not experience during the school year. Whether through sports, arts, technology, or outdoor adventures, these programs can help children build new skills, make friends, and stay active. They also offer a chance to explore interests in a fun and supportive environment. Wicked Cool Vet School-- Are you dreaming of becoming a superstar veterinarian?Grab your lab coat, animal adventurers, and prepare to meet your (stuffed) animal patient. Learn to recognize vital signs and emergencies in animals. Delve into dog digestion and investigate animal intestines from our favorite vertebrates:birds, mammals, reptiles, amphibians and fish. Cap off the week by using your knowledge of vertebrates to create your own new animal! Kids will get their own Veterinarian Starter Kit Kiwi Crate to explore animal x-rays to find animal bone fractures, and dig deeper into animal anatomy. Using the updated Minecraft Education platform, Minecraft Mania skillfully blends virtual and real-world learning experiences for maximum learning and fun. In the morning, become an intrepid explorer using a Minecraft avatar to dive into the wonders of engineering, physics, and biology to build our own Wicked Cool Minecraft town. Follow up with fun companion hands-on STEAM lessons to learn about engineering, biology and physics. We will do a dino dig and learn the properties of real rocks and minerals found in Minecraft. Complete the week with a creative Kiwi Crate Geologist Starter Kit and kick off yourcollection with real samples of obsidian, calcite, sandstone and pyrite (aka fool’s’ gold).Beginners Golf- Half-Day- 9am - 12pm: Swing into Skyhawks Beginning Golf, powered by Payne Stewart Golf Experiences. This beginning program focuses on fun and repetition with a games-based approach that can be played on any surface. Specialized equipment is used to ensure early success for young players. Key skills like putting and chipping are taught through engaging activities. Ideal for beginners and those improving, join Skyhawks for rewarding progress with every shot! This beginning program focuses on fun and repetition with a games-based approach that can be played on any surface. Specialized equipment is used to ensure early success for young players. Key skills like putting and chipping are taught through engaging activities. Ideal for beginners and those improving, join Skyhawks for rewarding progress with every shot! Participants may NOT bring their own clubs. Please wear athletic clothing and bring multiple water bottles, a snack, and sunscreen. Each participant will receive a Skyhawks award & T-shirt.

Summer Program 2025-- Week 3 July 7 - July 11 - Track & Field
Lancaster Recreations Summer Program Series! 9- weeks running from June 23, 2025 - August 22, 2025Full-Day and Half-Day options available most weeks.Early Drop-off & Extended Day options available!Summer programs provide kids with opportunities to learn, grow, and engage in activities they might not experience during the school year. Whether through sports, arts, technology, or outdoor adventures, these programs can help children build new skills, make friends, and stay active. They also offer a chance to explore interests in a fun and supportive environment. Early arrival will start 1 hour before the program starts and extended day is 1 hour after the program ends for an additional cost, $40 per week for either early arrival OR extended day or BOTH for $75 per week.All programs will be held at the Lancaster Community Center- programs will be outside, in the gym or meeting room at the center. Also don't forget to add-on a Summer Program T-shirt for your kiddo, for $15 at checkout!
Crazy Chemworks & World of Design-- We'll learn about the tools scientists use in their laboratories, as well as atoms, molecules and reactions, acids and bases, fluorescence, and phosphorescence. We'll also examine and investigate super sticky things by exploring suction, hydrogen bonding and static cling. We'll also see some very cool dry ice demonstrations! Continue the science at home with fun labware take-homes and experiments. Then take a journey to the farthest reaches of the imagination while learning about the ocean, the rainforest, Mars, and a futuristic city, and more! Use the design thinking process to solve real-world problems in these different environments. Experiment with Crayola products and many art techniques like sculpting, storyboarding, collage, and mix media. Experiment with Crayola products and many art techniques like sculpting, storyboarding, collage, and mix media. Discover design, careers like graphic design, universal design, urban design, and produce design.Track & Field- Half-Day- 9am - 12pm: Dash, jump, and throw with Skyhawks Track & Field! This program teaches young athletes track and field essentials, from body positioning and stride to stretching and cool-downs. Participants try events like javelin, discus, and hurdles (events vary by location). Each session builds skills, discipline, and sportsmanship. Get on track with Skyhawks for athletic and personal growth! Please wear athletic clothing and bring multiple water bottles, a snack, and sunscreen. Each participant will receive a Skyhawks award & T-shirt.
