Town of Lancaster – Recreation - 2nd Annual Free Throw Competition
March 8, 2025 – Starting at 9:30am

Ages of Competition
9 & 10:
Shoots 12 feet from the basket
11 & 12: 
Shoots 15 feet from the basket
13 & 14:
Shoots 15 feet from the basket

Location: Luther Burbank Middle School (103 Hollywood Drive Lancaster, MA 01523)

General Rules:
1. Participants are given five practice attempts before shooting for the competition.
2. All free throws must be attempted from behind the free throw line (15 feet) for ages 11-14 and 12 feet for ages 9-10..
3. A free throw is considered out when it touches any support or standard above the backboard or rim.
4. Any ties during the competition, shoots 5 shots/per participant for the playoff

Competition Overview:
Each participant will shoot 5 practice shots, then continue onto 5 more competitive shots. The person in charge of that hoop will then write down how many shots were made from those 5. Once the 5 shots are done and written down, the next participant steps up. After 4 rounds for each participant, which totals out to 20 competitive shots taken, the first place goes to the participant who has made the most out of those 20.
